I believe that Hollywood's first priority when making a film is for entertainment value. Truth comes second hand along side facts and realism. I don't think Hollywood tries to exaggerate truths, but its just something that needs to be done when making films in order to play over well with its audience. Can we learn things from films? Of course we can, However there are limitations to what we can take away from films. Films like "A Beautiful mind" can help us to understand the very basics of schizophrenia however Hollywood can distort some very important elements of schizophrenia, for examples the symptoms.
